Composition of High-Voltage Cable Shielding Layer
High-voltage cable shielding layers are designed to protect the cable and surrounding equipment from electromagnetic interference (Emi) and to provide a path for fault currents to ground. They are typically composed of either a braided wire shield, an aluminum foil tape shield, or a combination of both. Navíc, semi-conducting layers are used to even out electric stress within the cable.
